Boca Bistro to be David and Roslyn Zecchini’s fourth restaurant
Saratoga Springs, NY May 2, 2012 – The owners of DZ Restaurants, David and Roslyn Zecchini, announced a projected opening date of June 1st for their fourth restaurant, Boca Bistro; a Spanish Bistro & Tapas Bar.
Boca Bistro joins the family of DZ Restaurants which includes Chianti Il Ristorante and Forno Bistro in Saratoga Springs and Pasta Pane in Clifton Park.
Located at 384 Broadway in Saratoga Springs, construction of Boca Bistro began in March and can be followed online on the Boca Bistro Facebook page along with the DZ Restaurants Twitter feed, Flickr Page and Pinterest Board.
“During a time when many businesses are feeling the effects of the recession we are thankful to not only be introducing a new restaurant concept to Saratoga’s already vibrant and diverse restaurant scene, but to also be experiencing growth in each of our three current restaurants.” said David Zecchini, owner of DZ Restaurants “This growth and expansion wouldn’t be possible without the support of our guests and the communities of Saratoga and Clifton Park alike.”
Boca Bistro will blend vintage Spanish elements with a distinctive contemporary spirit unique to every DZ Restaurant. Through a mosaic of earthen and distressed textures, stylistic accents and a touch of Mediterranean influence Boca Bistro will embody the charismatic essence of an authentic old-world restaurant. A diverse menu of authentic Spanish cuisine and tapas matched by superb interior design will result in a dining experience to rival any to be found on the cobbled streets of Spain.
Select menu items and tapas from Boca Bistro’s forthcoming menu were recently premiered at the Saratoga Automobile Museum’s First Annual Start to Finish Wine Tasting including Dates filled with Valdeon blue cheese & bacon, Manchego & Serrano croquettes and Patatas Bravas with aioli. The first-time event attracted nearly 300 attendees and also featured the Automobile Museum’s current exhibit, Porsche – 60 Years of Speed and Style and tasting stations with over 80 international wines.
“Here was a rare opportunity to bring together my two passions, good food and fast cars.” added Zecchini “For many years it has been a dream of mine to create an event like this and I’m deeply grateful for the partnership and participation of the museum.”
Spanish cuisine, like Italian cuisine, is centered on the family in preparation and presentation. Whereas in Italian culture families customarily pass around large bowl of fresh pastas, vegetable and meats, the Spanish tend to prepare a selection of tapas, or small plates; both however are served family-style thus exemplifying the communal spirit of a traditional European dinner table.
When completed Boca Bistro will be a 90-seat restaurant together with a 20-seat bar as its centerpiece serving Spanish-inspired tapas. Boca Bistro will be open daily for lunch and dinner and also feature intimate sidewalk patio seating along with private and semi-private event space.
