SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29 AT NATIONAL MUSEUM OF DANCE
Preparations are underway to break a world record!
Thrill the world is a worldwide attempt to break the World Record for the Largest Simultaneous Dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
Thousands of people in cities around the world will learn the Thriller dance and perform it precisely at the same time.
In Saratoga Springs that time is 10 p.m. Eastern Time October 29, 2011 on Halloween Weekend. The Thrill the 518 event is part of the annual Downtown Business Association’s (DBA) Fall Festival taking place in the City of Saratoga Springs beginning at 10 a.m. on October 29, 2011. The Thriller Dance, the closing event of the DBA Fall Festival, will take place at the National Museum Dance on South Broadway in Saratoga Springs from 8 to 10:15 p.m.
As part of the DBA Fall Festival’s daylong events on October 29, there will be a free Thriller Dance class workshop from 11am to 1pm at the Saratoga Springs Senior Center at 5 William Street in Saratoga Springs. Tara Rainstrom coordinator of the Thrill the 518 in Albany will teach the class
Registration for Thriller 518 begins at 8pm.
Note: No one can dance without registering.
A final workshop of the Thriller Dance will take place from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Registration closes at 9:15 p.m. All dancers are requested to bring extra socks. Participants can also pre-register at the Star 101.3 Live Broadcast from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the festival day.
The Fall Festival Committee is thrilled to welcome Michael Jackson impersonator, Miguel G. Jackson, who will be leading the dancers at 10 p.m. during this worldwide 6 minute Michael Jackson dance. Soul Session Edu-tainment, Inc., will install the special effect lighting and the sound system will be provided by Bailey’s Sound Systems. Their support will help create a memorable experience.
Thriller 518 is a unique celebration of dance for all ages, family friendly event. It’s fitting that it is at the National Museum of Dance. who last year inducted Michael Jackson into their Dance Hall of Fame. Be a part of this worldwide world-record simultaneous M.J.Thriller dance event hosted by the DBA Fall Festival. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Snacks and beverages will be available while supply lasts.
