Saratoga Farmer’s Market in the running for the “Best in America”

Saratoga is certainly known as a destination point–usually for horses and history, but soon it may be known also as for its top farmers’ market!   Currently the Saratoga Farmers’ Market is participating in the American Farm Land Trust contest “Best Market in America”.  Currently we are in first place in the medium category–but by a precariously few votes.  We need the support of everyone to make it happen.  The contest end August 30.

What would winning mean?  It means that Saratoga will be noted nationwide as a community that supports local agriculture and local food.  It also puts the nation on notice that New York State has a lot more going on beyond the city of New York–upstate New York is a destination spot for wonderful locally produced food by a vibrant farming population with beautiful farm land.

The Saratoga Farmers’ Market is very proud of their current designation as a top ten market in America (2009 and 2010) and wants to thank all of Saratoga who shops with us and has voted for us in this contest already. We want to encourage all of Saratoga that has not voted, to vote as well.  Every vote counts and every vote inspires us at the market to do more to serve the community.

Voting is done on-line at
