La Fiesta-A Celebration of Backstretch Culture

SARATOGA SPRINGS — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will present “La Fiesta” on Tuesday, Aug. 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. behind the Jockey Recreation Center at Saratoga Race Course’s Oklahoma Training Track. The event is a celebration of backstretch culture and is free and open to the public. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from El Mariachi Restaurant and there will be live music and dance.

Music will be provided by Jose Conde, who won Best Latin Album at the Independent Music Awards in 2008 and has performed at events such as the Montreal Jazz Festival and at venues including the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Central Park in New York City.

Carlos Osorio and the Cumbia Dance Spirit will also be performing at “La Fiesta.” There will be piñatas and traditional crafts for kids.

Support for “La Fiesta” was generously provided by the New York Racing Association (NYRA), New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson.
