On Tuesday, I was invited to tour the National Museum of Dance, on South Broadway, in Saratoga Springs, New York. As the new President of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, I’ve made it a point to get out of my office as often as possible to meet as many members as I could. A quick observation from these visits is that our community is blessed with a wide range of extraordinary resources and great places to visit, including the National Museum of Dance.
The one exhibit that really caught my attention is called Postage Paid: Dance Around the World. It’s an exhibit created from the Museum’s archives of international postage stamps. Each stamp and the images on them showcase that nation’s traditional national dances. As our region emerges as a global destination attracting international visitors and workers to Saratoga, it’s great to know that the National Museum of Dance has found a unique opportunity to think global and act local in such a proactive way.
